2-vehicle crash on US-177 near Tecumseh kills 1, hurts 1

POTTAWATOMIE CO., OK – One person died, and another was hospitalized Wednesday after two vehicles collided along the highway near Tecumseh.

According to KOCO News 5, the incident happened in the afternoon on US-177 near Tucker Road in central Pottawatomie County.

The investigation thus far indicates that a sign truck collided with a van along the highway, killing one of the occupants from the van at the scene. A second occupant from the van went to the hospital with injuries.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the deceased, and no other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.

Officials closed US-177 in the vicinity of the crash while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
