TULSA, OK – At least five people went to the hospital Saturday in Tulsa after a collision involving two vehicles on the Broken Arrow Expressway, reports News on 6.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. on on the eastbound side of the Broken Arrow Expressway near East 21st Street, which is in the Florence Park area.

Police say an eastbound Lexus struck another vehicle before leaving the roadway and crashing into a tree. It is unclear what may have caused the driver of the Lexus to lose control of the vehicle.

Medics transported five patients to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Officials closed the eastbound lanes of the Broken Arrow Expressway while crews worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
