5-year-old child killed, 2 injured in solo crash on I-40 near El Reno

CANADIAN CO., OK – A young child died, and two other people were hurt Sunday after a solo crash along the interstate in central Canadian County, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident occurred around 8:05 a.m. on I-40 near mile marker 110 near Calumet and El Reno.
Police say that roads were wet when a 2023 Toyota Tacoma carrying five people crashed.
Medics transported a five-year-old passenger to the hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Two other people, a 5-month-old girl and a 29-year-old woman, also went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Officials say the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
