OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A 23-year-old woman has been identified as the pedestrian who died last Thursday after a crash on Interstate 40 in central Oklahoma City, reports KFOR.
The fatal incident occurred on the eastbound interstate at South Shields Boulevard, near the Oklahoma City Convention Center, just south of Downtown. Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol first received reports at around 11:45 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the young woman was running northbound across the eastbound traffic lanes when she was hit by an eastbound 2002 Ford pickup truck.
The victim died from her injuries at the scene, confirmed the OHP.
The driver, who was uninjured, stayed at the site and cooperated with an investigation.
All eastbound lanes were blocked during the emergency response.
