2 passengers critically injured in crash off I-35 near SW Purcell

MCCLAIN COUNTY, OK — Two Edmond men were critically injured Friday morning in a single-vehicle wreck off Interstate 35 near southwest Purcell, reports KFOR.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene on the northbound interstate near mile marker 92, at arund 8:27 a.m.
According to officials, a 2017 Chevrolet was traveling northbound when, for reasons still being investigated, it veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a grass embankment.
Two male occupants, aged 22 and 25, both suffered major injuries to the head and internal torso. The 22-year-old patient was airlifted to Oklahoma City’s University of Oklahoma Medical Center, while the 25-year-old was taken to Purcell Municipal Hospital and then flown to OU Medical Center. CHP said both victims were listed in critical condition.
Officials said the 24-year-old male driver, also of Edmond, was taken to Purcell Municipal Hospital with undisclosed injuries. He has since been released.
CHP noted the driver was the only occupant who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
No further details have been released, but an investigation remains underway.
