Driver dies after crashing into sign off OK-3 in Canadian County

CANADIAN COUNTY, OK — A 72-year-old Oklahoma City man died Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle accident off Oklahoma State Highway 3 near Piedmont, reports FOX 25.
The fatal collision occurred on the eastbound lanes of the highway, northwest of the city.
Details remain limited at this time, but authorities said the man was driving eastbound when, for reasons still unknown, his vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a stop sign.
First responders pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Officials said no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the wreck.
The cause of the accident has not been reported, but an investigation remains underway.
