OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK — A man crashed his pickup truck into a pond Wednesday after suffering a medical episode near northeast Arcadia, reports News On 6.
Authorities said the accident occurred off a span of North Hiwassee Road near Northeast 222nd Street.
An early investigation indicates the man experienced a medical emergency and lost consciousness before his red pickup truck veered off the roadway and into a pond.
Officials said the driver was able to exit the sinking vehicle through the driver’s side window and swim to the shore. It was unclear whether he was injured or taken to a hospital.
Oklahoma County Deputies, Edmond Police, and Edmond Fire Department all responded to the scene.
Fire crews employed flotation devices to hoist the pickup to the surface of the pond before using a crane to remove it from the water.
