1 dead, 1 left critically hurt after crash on I-35 in Murray County

MURRAY COUNTY, OK — A 25-year-old man died early Monday after a single-vehicle crash that critically hurt another on Interstate 35 in Murray, reports KOCO.
The fatal collision occurred on the northbound lanes at mile marker 55, south of Oklahoma Highway 7, at about 2:45 a.m.
A crash report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicates the man, a resident of Mississippi, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Trax northbound, when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the roadway and hit a bridge abutment. Authorities said the male driver and his passenger were pinned in the vehicle for about 30 minutes before they were extricated.
The driver was rushed to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The passenger, who was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital, remains in critical condition.
No other details have been disclosed at this time. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
