Man fatally hit by pickup truck on I-40 EB near Shawnee

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, OK — A 62-year-old man died late Saturday night after a pedestrian crash on Interstate 40 near Shawnee, according to KFOR.
The fatal incident took place on the eastbound interstate, just west of the city. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene at around 11:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was walking in the inside traffic lane. At one point, he was hit by a driver in an eastbound 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials.
No information on the driver has been shared at this time.
An investigation remains underway.
