Locomotive strikes, kills man near SH-91 in Colbert

COLBERT, OK – A male pedestrian died on Monday morning in Colbert after a train hit him along the tracks north of the highway, reports KXII.

The incident happened at 6:15 a.m. on the tracks just north of State Highway 91.

The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound Union Pacific Locomotive struck the man as he sat on the tracks.

Officials say the victim died at the scene. They have not yet released his identity to the public.

Neither the driver of the train nor his passenger sustained injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
