DUI driver strikes, kills pedestrian at OK-56 and OK-27 in Okemah

OKEMAH, OK – An impaired driver struck and killed a 30-year-old woman Tuesday along the highway in central Okfuskee County, reports Fox 23 News.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection of OK-56 and OK-27, which is north of I-40 and south of West Columbia Street.
Police say that 60-year-old Kevin Weimer was headed westbound on OK-56 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the female pedestrian. Officials say that Weimer was under the influence at the time of the accident.
The victim, identified as Leah Schrock, died at the scene of the accident.
