Man killed in wrong-way crash on US-177 SB near Byars

MCCLAIN CO., OK – A 45-year-old man died late Thursday morning from injuries sustained in a wrong-way crash in southeast McClain County.
According to News 9, the incident occurred around 10:05 a.m. on US-177 near the town of Byars. This is about 62 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the northbound victim entered the southbound lanes of the highway and collided with a southbound vehicle.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Prescott E. Sims, died after transport to a local hospital.
The southbound driver did not required hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
