Corporal with Boley correctional facility killed in 2-vehicle crash

BOLEY, OK – A two-vehicle crash in western Okfuskee County killed a corporal from a local correctional facility on Sunday, reports Fox 25.
The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. along OK-62 between Boley and Meeker. This is about 57 miles east of Oklahoma City.
Police aren’t yet sure what caused the accident, but they say it involved two corporals from the John Lilley Correctional Center. One of the men was driving a van towards Edmond, and the other was headed to work in Boley in a personal vehicle.
The driver of the van, identified as Cpl. Robert Sumner, died at the scene of the accident.
The other driver, identified as Cpl. Andrew Freppon, sustained injuries and went to the hospital via air ambulance. He has since undergone surgery.
A full investigation is underway.
