Wrong-way crash on I-44 in SW Catoosa kills Nowata motorcyclist

CATOOSA, OK – Emergency teams responded to a fatal two-vehicle accident along the interstate in Catoosa on Thursday, reports Fox 23 News.

The accident happened at night on the eastbound side of I-44 near 193rd East Avenue, or County Line Road. This is on the southwestern outskirts of the city.

Police say that a motorcyclist from Nowata entered the wrong side of the interstate and crashed his Kawasaki head on into a truck.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jason L. Hurd, died at the scene even though he was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the accident.

Medics transported the truck driver to the hospital with minor injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
