Carjacking ends in fatal crash at S MacArthur Blvd and SW 54th St

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A single-vehicle collision associated with a carjacking killed one person in southwest Oklahoma City on Wednesday, reports News 9.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. in the area of South MacArthur Boulevard and Southwest 54th Street, which is at the northwest corner of Will Rogers World Airport.

Police followed the driver of a speeding vehicle after an alleged carjacking transpired. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed after overturning. The sole occupant of the car died at the scene from injuries sustained in the wreck.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the deceased.

Officials closed roadways in the area of the crash while police investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
