Pedestrian killed, another hurt in 2-vehicle crash near E 71st and Yale

TULSA, OK – One person died Tuesday afternoon, and several others sustained injures in a two-vehicle crash at a southeast Tulsa intersection, reports KTUL News 8.
The accident happened in the area of East 71st Street and South Yale Avenue, which is south of St Francis Hospital and north of Pediatric Specialists of Tulsa.
Police say that two pedestrians were struck during a T-bone collision in the intersection. One of the pedestrians, whom officials say was likely a panhandler, died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.
Medics transported the other pedestrian to the hospital with serious injuries.
It’s not yet clear if anyone in the two vehicles sustained injuries, nor do we know what caused the crash.
Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area of East 71st and South Yale while crews attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
