Crash involving semi hauling cars closes I-40 WB near Country Club Rd

EL RENO, OK – Multiple vehicles were involved in a major accident that closed the westbound side of the interstate in El Reno on Wednesday night, reports News 9.

The crash happened sometime around 6:30 p.m. at Country Club Road, which is northwest of El Reno Regional Airport and southwest of Rinehart Park.

Police say the collision occurred when the ramp fell from the trailer of a semi-truck hauling cars. A motorcycle and a passenger vehicle were involved, though authorities haven’t disclosed any further details about what happened.

There’s no word yet regarding fatalities and injuries.

The westbound lanes remained closed for around three hours, re-opening sometime between 9:30 and 10 pm.
