Truck driver, OTA employee hospitalized after crash on Muskogee Turnpike

NEAR ONETA, OK – An Oklahoma Turnpike Authority employee and a truck driver were taken to a hospital after a crash on the Muskogee Turnpike on Friday.

The incident unfolded at mile marker 6 in a temporary work zone, News on 6 said. Two OTA employees were working to clear tire debris from the road. One driver claimed they did not see the employees, and swerved into the path of a truck with a trailer.

The truck slid and clipped the back of a OTA work truck before striking one of the OTA employees.

The OTA employee who was hit, along with the truck driver, were both injured and sent to a hospital by EMS.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed the truck driver was not cited.
