OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A two-vehicle crash along I-344 in northeast Oklahoma City injured a police officer on Sunday night, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident happened around 7:50 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Kilpatrick Turnpike, just past the intersection with the Broadway Extension. This is in The Oaks area.

Police say that an eastbound truck hauling a horse trailer crashed into the rear of a stopped police cruiser. The police officer had stationed his cruiser to block a couch that had fallen from a vehicle.

The police officer went to the hospital with non-critical injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash.

Officials blocked the eastbound on-ramp from the Broadway Extension onto I-344 while emergency teams responded to the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
