JACKSON CO., OK – A 49-year-old man died Sunday from injuries sustained three days prior in a solo crash along the highway in northeast Jackson County, reports 96.5 KECO.
The accident happened just before 4 pm along OK-19 near South County Road 205. This is just northeast of the city of Blair.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an eastbound 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 left the roadway and struck an embankment. The unrestrained driver, identified as Clint L. Emmons, became entrapped in his vehicle and required extrication with the jaws of life.
Medics airlifted Emmons to a hospital in Oklahoma City, where he later died.
Motorists likely experienced delays along OK-19 in the area of the crash while emergency teams worked to free the victim and clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
