Pedestrian struck, fatally injured on I-40 near Council Rd

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person died Friday night in an auto-pedestrian crash along the interstate in western Oklahoma City, reports KFOR News 4.
The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. along I-40 near Council Road, which is just west of the OKC Outlets and northeast of Swisher Park.
Police haven’t commented on the circumstances of the wreck except to say that a commercial vehicle was involved.
The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries; authorities have not released the name of the victim.
While no details have been released about the driver, police are not calling the incident a hit-and-run.
Officials closed I-40 in the area of the crash while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
