2-vehicle crash at US-60 and S 680 Rd near Wyandotte kills 1

OTTAWA CO., OK – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in east-central Ottawa County, reports FourStatesHomepage.Com.

Police and medics reported to the intersection of US-60 and S 680 Road around 10 p.m. after receiving word of a major wreck. This is just east of Wyandotte in the northeast corner of the state.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a westbound 2016 Buick Enclave collided with and eastbound 2019 Kenworth Truck when the driver of the Buck made a left turn without yielding the right of way.

The 71-year-old driver of the Buick succumbed to her injuries Thursday morning after spending the night at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.

The 63-year-old truck driver did not sustain injuries in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
