OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An ambulance responded to the scene of a crash involving an 18-wheeler Thursday morning in northeast Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on the southbound side of I-35 near I-44, which is just southwest of Arcadia Lake and east of Oklahoma Christian University.
Police say that wet roadways caused the driver of a semi-truck to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a construction zone. The truck overturned and jackknifed after losing traction on the interstate.
It’s unclear if anyone inside of the 18-wheeler sustained injuries, but an ambulance was spotted at the scene.
Officials closed the southbound side of the interstate for multiple hours while emergency crews attended to the victims and worked to clear the wreckage.
A full investigation is underway. Our team of bloggers will keep apprised of the story and return with updates if we learn more about the condition of the driver.
