1 killed, 1 hurt in CMV collision on I-44 at MM 313 in Miami

MIAMI, OK – A 36-year-old man died Monday in a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle along the interstate in northwest Ottawa County.
According to KOCO News 5, the collision occurred just before 2 p.m. on I-44, or the Will Rogers Turnpike, at mile marker 313 on the east side of Miami. This is about 89 miles northeast of Tulsa.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of the CMV lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and hit a parked car on the shoulder. The hazard lights on the car were activated.
A passenger in the vehicle that was hit sustained fatal injuries. Authorities identified him as Oklahoma Turnpike Authority employee Zachary Rinehart.
Medics transported the driver of the parked vehicle to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The driver of the CMV did not sustain injuries in the accident.
