Driver hurt after rear-ending Del City fire truck on I-40

DEL CITY, OK – One person went to the hospital Thursday morning after a collision involving a fire truck on the northwest side of Del City, reports News 9.
The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on I-40 near Sunnylane Road, which is west of Ray Trent Park and southwest of Del Crest Middle School.
Police say that a car struck a fire truck that was parked along the interstate to divert traffic from another wreck near I-40 and Scott Street.
Medics transported the driver of the car to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
None of the fire crew members on the truck required hospitalization.
A full investigation is underway.
