Ambulance, semi collide on US-270 near Oakwood, killing 1

DEWEY CO., OK – A fatality has been reported in connection to a major crash that happened Thursday in southeast Dewey County, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident occurred sometime in the afternoon near the intersection of US-270 and East 770 Road, which is southeast of Oakwood and about 85 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.
Police haven’t shared any details regarding the circumstances of the collision except to say that it involved a Woodward County ambulance and an 18-wheeler. The ambulance overturned as a result of the crash.
One person sustained fatal injuries, and at least two others were transported to area hospitals. Authorities haven’t released the name of the deceased to the public.
The accident likely created substantial delays along US-270 in the Oakwood area Thursday afternoon while crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.
