NORMAN, OK – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal vehicle collision in Norman last month.
A news release from the Norman Police Department states that the crash happened Sept. 29 in the 3600 block of Classen Boulevard.
A preliminary investigation and video evidence indicated that a small sedan was going south on Classen Boulevard when it turned eastbound, crossing into the path of a northbound pickup truck. The truck collided with the sedan.
Police said the sedan was occupied by 30-year-old Brad Jones and a juvenile male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones was injured and taken to a local hospital. The pickup truck was occupied by a man who reported minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.
On Oct. 7, charges were filed with the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office, and an arrest warrant was issued for Jones. He was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a charge of second-degree murder.
The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
