POTTAWATOMIE CO., OK – A 20-year-old truck driver died Friday in a solo crash along a major roadway in west-central Pottawatomie County, reports KOCO 5.

The accident happened in the morning on Bethel Road, just south of OK-9. This is just south of Bethel Acres and west of Tecumseh.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound box truck left the roadway. When they attempted to re-enter Bethel Road, the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to roll. The impact of the crash caused the driver to eject, and they died at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as Samari Tarell Durham.

The passenger in the box truck did not require hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
