ELGIN, OK – Four people went to the hospital Tuesday after a chain-reaction crash involving a police cruiser and three other vehicles at an Elgin intersection, reports KSWO 7.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m. at the railroad crossing in the area of Dolese Road and US-62, which is west of Fort Sill National Cemetary.
The investigation thus far indicates that a police cruiser rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped behind two other cars at a railroad crossing, which caused a chain-reaction accident.
All four drivers needed treatment, though the extent of their injuries is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing. We will circle back with updates if we learn more about what might have caused the police vehicle to crash.
