Child struck, fatally injured near E 21st and Memorial Dr in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A child died Wednesday evening when a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in southeast Tulsa, reports Fox 23 News.
Emergency teams were called to the scene of an auto-pedestrian crash shortly before 5:30 p.m. on East 21st Street between South 79th and Memorial Drive. This is northeast of Nathan Hale High School and northwest of I-44.
Police say the 7-year-old victim was crossing East 21st Street with a group of other children. The boy was walking outside of a designated crosswalk when a vehicle struck him.
Medics transported the child to an area hospital after performing CPR at the scene. The boy succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
No other children were hurt in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.
A full investigation is underway.
