Cyclist dies after crash with vehicle on SH-9 in SE Norman

CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK — One person was fatally injured Friday evening in a collision involving a vehicle on State Highway 9 near southeast Norman, reports KFOR.

The accident occurred on a span of the highway between 84th Avenue Southeast and 108th Avenue Southeast. It was first reported by KFOR at 8:13 p.m.

Details remain limited at this time, but the Norman Police Department said the cyclist died as a result of their injuries.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said all east and westbound lanes in the area were blocked during the response and investigation.

By 10:55 p.m., more than two hours later, the scene had cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

At this time, police have not shared additional information.
