OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A 31-year-old local man died early Friday after a rollover crash off Interstate 44 in southwest Oklahoma City, according to KOCO.
The fatal accident occurred on the northbound lanes near Southwest 59th Street, at around 3:10 p.m.
An early investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicates the man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. Moments later, the Chevrolet veered off the roadway and rolled, ejecting the male driver. The vehicle then came to rest in an area about 200 feet from the interstate.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has since determined that the vehicle’s rate of speed during wet road conditions caused the fatal wreck.
