Driver hospitalized after rear-ending semi on I-35SB near SE 15th

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Emergency teams responded to an injury crash involving a car and a semi-truck along the interstate in central Oklahoma City on Thursday, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened some time before noon on the southbound side of I-35 near Southeast 15th Street. This is south of the river and just northwest of Trosper Park.
Police say the driver of the passenger vehicle required extrication after rear-ending an 18-wheeler on the interstate. It’s not yet clear what caused the collision.
Medics transported the driver of the car to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
It’s not yet known if the truck driver sustained injuries in the wreck.
Drivers experienced delays along I-35 southbound while crews worked to rescue the victim and clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
