Driver turns self in after worker fatally hit at Oklahoma City construction site

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash that claimed a life in northwest Oklahoma City, reports News9.
The fatal incident occurred at a construction site in the area of North Western Avenue and West Memorial Road. Oklahoma City Police responded to the scene at about 5:00 p.m.
According to authorities, the suspect was driving a work van when he reversed the vehicle and struck his co-worker during the end of their shift at the site.
First responders arrived to find the victim deceased at the scene.
The suspect, who had fled the site on foot, later showed up at a briefing station and turned himself in. He has since been arrested and booked into Oklahoma County Detention Center for “leaving the scene of a fatal accident.”
At this time, no information on the victim has been released as authorities work to notify family members.
