El Reno man dead after accident at Fairview oil rig

FAIRVIEW, OK (MAJOR COUNTY) – A worker died as a result of an accident at an oil rig near Fairview on Thursday morning, according to information from News 9.
The incident happened at an oil field owned by Stride Energy, LLC, at around 9 a.m., when Orco Energy, LLC employee Jerry Pollard got caught in a cable winch drum.
Pollard, a resident of El Reno, was then pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office and OSHA Oklahoma City.
Stride Energy is suspending operations of the oil well in response to the accident.
