Fatality reported in crash on I-44 near MM 186 in Depew

DEPEW, OK – At least one person died Saturday from injuries sustained in a crash along the interstate in southwest Creek County, reports Fox 23 News.

The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the westbound side of I-44 at mile marker 186 in Depew. This is between Stroud and Bristow and about 45 minutes southwest of Tulsa.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause or circumstances of the collision, nor have police released the name(s) of the deceased.

Officials closed one lane of I-44 westbound in the area of the wreck while emergency teams worked to clear the scene. All lanes re-opened by around 8:30 a.m.
