EL RENO, OK – The driver of a sedan died Wednesday in El Reno after his vehicle crashed into an 18-wheeler along the highway, reports News 9.

The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. in the area of Route 66 and South Radio Road, which is just north of I-40 and US-270.

The investigation indicates that the victim ran a stop sign while driving north on South Radio Road and collided with the side of a tractor-trailer. The force of the crash threw the first driver from his vehicle, and he died at the scene.

The 18-wheeler ignited after veering into a ditch. The truck driver exited the vehicle without any injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
