Hazmat team called to semi-crash on I-244 near 129th E Ave

TULSA, OK – Emergency teams responded to a major accident involving a semi-truck along the interstate in east Tulsa Thursday morning.
According to News on 6, the incident happened sometime before 9:30 a.m. on the westbound side of I-244 near 129th East Avenue. This is near the Flying J Travel Center.
Police haven’t shared any details about the crash except to say that it caused the 18-wheeler to leak acid.
It’s not yet clear if any other vehicles were involved or if anyone sustained injuries in the collision.
Officials closed the inside lanes on both the eastbound and westbound sides of I-244 while hazmat crews worked to address the leak.
