DAVIS, OK – A 19-year-old man is facing six felony charges in connection with a collision that injured multiple people, KTEN reports.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on September 14. Preliminary details show that the 19-year-old man, identified as Caleb Cooper, was driving at a high rate of speed — 102 mph in a 50 mph zone — fleeing from law enforcement.
Cooper was driving on State Highway 7 when he reached the intersection of East Main Street and Airport Road. He lost control of his car and crashed into a curb.
Cooper’s car went airborne before crashing into a ditch and catching fire.
Cooper and his three passengers, identified as Morgan Bernal, Amarah Grover, and Jackson Ammerman, were all seriously injured.
Ammerman was left with broken bones, a fractured spine, and a traumatic brain injury. Some of the occupants are even learning to walk again.
District Attorney Melissa Handke believes Cooper may have been under the influence of cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol.
An arrest warrant is currently pending for Cooper.
