Man hurt, dog killed in hit-and-run at W 71st and S Elwood

TULSA, OK – A man sustained injuries, and a dog died when a vehicle struck them in south-central Tulsa on Saturday afternoon, reports Fox News 23.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. in the area of West 71st Street South and South Elwood Avenue, which is just south of Turkey Mountain and east of Tulsa ER and Hospital.
Police say that a white minivan hit a man and his dog as they were walking outside of a designated crosswalk.
The dog died, and medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the minivan sped away from the scene, ultimately causing a chain-reaction collision involving two other vehicles at West 71st Street South and South Olympia Avenue.
The driver went to the hospital with critical injuries.
There’s no word yet regarding charges.
