Man struck, killed by car at SW 11th and Bishop in Lawton

LAWTON, OK – A man died last Tuesday night after a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in central Comanche County, reports KSWO 7 News.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest Bishop Road and Southwest 11th Street, which is just northeast of Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport.
Authorities have identified the victim as Thomas Watkins.
Police say that the driver in the fatal crash, identified as Deondre Daniel, left the scene of the accident but was later detained. Daniel faces charges that include failure to stop for an accident and first degree manslaughter.
The investigation continues.
