Minivan strikes, kills 40-year-old male pedestrian in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A 40-year-old man died Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck him along the interstate in the Barden Heights area of Tulsa.

According to Fox 23 News, the incident occurred just after midnight on I-244 near South Harvard Avenue. This is just northeast of The University of Tulsa.

Police say a minivan hit Jahmar Shaw when he walked onto the interstate. Shaw died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

It’s not yet clear if the driver of the minivan stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.

Officials closed several lanes of I-244 while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
