MAYES CO., OK – Drivers faced significant delays along US-412 in south-central Mayes County on Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi, reports News on 6.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the bridge over the Neosho River. This is just southwest of Sams Corner and east of Chouteau.
Police haven’t yet determined the cause of the collision. They say a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler hauling fuel were involved. The crash impact caused a fuel leak from the semi-truck.
Both drivers sustained only minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
Officials closed the eastbound side of US-412 for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
