Moped operator killed in collision on E 20 Rd near US-69 Alt

OTTAWA CO., OK – A 33-year-old moped operator sustained fatal injuries this week in a two-vehicle crash in northeast Ottawa County, reports 102.3 KRMG.

The incident occurred on Thursday along East 20 Road at southbound US-69. This is just south of the Oklahoma and Kansas state line and northeast of Quapaw.

Police say that an eastbound moped collided with a passenger vehicle when the moped operator failed to heed a stop sign.

The moped operator, identified as Ricky Wilson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Medics transported the female driver of the other vehicle to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

The investigation is ongoing.
