Motorcyclist dies in hospital from May 2nd collision in Keys

KEYS, OK – A 56-year-old man died in late May from injuries sustained in a major crash that happened earlier that month in southern Cherokee County.
According to Sequoyah County Times, the motorcycle accident happened around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, May 2nd, at the intersection of OK-82 and South Indian Road in the city of Keys. This is about 75 miles southeast of Tulsa.
Police say that an eastbound 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a westbound 2020 Ford Fusion when the driver of the latter vehicle initiated a left turn onto South Indian Road.
Medics airlifted the motorcycle operator, identified as Jarret A. Burge, to an area hospital. Burge died almost a month after the crash on Thursday, May 29th.
The driver of the Ford did not sustain injuries in the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
