OKC police chase ends in crash at SW 15th St and S Douglas Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A passenger sustained minor injuries in a crash that happened Thursday after an alleged DUI driver fled police in central Oklahoma City, reports News 9.

The crash happened in the early morning hours near the intersection of Southwest 15th Street and South Douglas Avenue, which is just northeast of Rotary Park.

The nature of the crash is unknown at this time. The driver ran away from the scene on foot, and the passenger sustained a shoulder injury.

It is unclear why police were initially pursuing the vehicle. They say intoxication was likely the primary cause of the crash. Authorities ultimately located and detained the driver.

The investigation continues.
