Pawnee Co. crash involving motorcycle, semi, and dog kills 1

PAWNEE CO., OK – A man died on Thursday morning after a dog ran into the path of his motorcycle on a highway near Cleveland, causing a major accident.

According to KOCO 5, the incident happened on the eastbound side of US-412 near Westport Road and just southeast of Cleveland.

Police say that a dog ran onto the highway in front of a motorcycle. The motorcycle operator, identified as 50-year-old Michael S. McKaskle, struck the dog and was then thrown from his bike and into the path of an 18-wheeler. The motorcyclist died at the scene after the semi-truck hit him.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
