Pedestrian struck, injured at SW 59th and S Penn Ave in SW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Emergency crews reported to the scene of a potentially serious pedestrian accident Wednesday morning in southwest Oklahoma City, reports News 9.
The incident happened before 6 a.m. on the eastbound side of Southwest 59th Street near South Pennsylvania Avenue, which is just east of Brock Creek and southeast of Oklahoma Humane Society.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident, which involved a dark-colored sedan. They say the pedestrian went to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.
Officials say that drivers experienced delays along Southwest 59th Street while crews worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
