Pedestrian struck, killed by 18-wheeler on I-40 near Harrah Rd

NEWALLA, OK – A pedestrian died on Wednesday from injuries sustained when a semi-truck struck them along the interstate in Newalla, reports KFOR News 4.
The incident happened sometime in the morning on the eastbound side of I-40 near South Harrah Road, which is just southwest of Wes Watkins Lake.
Police have not shared any details regarding the circumstances of the accident except to say that they found the victim lying in the roadway. It is unclear at this time if the semi-truck remained at the scene.
The victim died later that morning after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.
Officials closed the eastbound lanes of the interstate while crews responded to the crash. All lanes re-opened by around 11:51 a.m.
