OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police have arrested a 21-year-old man who they say struck and killed a 32-year-old pedestrian at a busy Oklahoma City intersection back in August.

According to KFOR News 4, the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on August 2, 2023, in the area of Southeast 29th Street and South Shields Boulevard. This is just northeast of Oliver Park.

Police say that 21-year-old Eugene Phillips fled from officers when they attempted a traffic stop and ultimately struck and killed 32-year-old Travis Barber. Phillips ran from the scene of the crash on foot.

Authorities located and arrested Phillips Thursday on multiple charges, including first-degree murder and leaving the scene of a fatality accident.
